Course Description

This course will focus on Future-proofing Home Design.

Often the thought of future proofing a home is one-dimensional, focused on technology alone, but this presentation will cover the many aspects of how to make sure that a home will continue to work for the long run, and how its design plays a major role in ensuring that. Sarah Gallop, RID has an approach to design that makes sure that homes you build for your clients stay timeless, and she will share with you how to future proof the design of a home, taking into consideration trends, technology, step code, energy, and family changes.

In this seminar, you can expect to learn how to guide and advise your clients on…

• How to incorporate house design trends of the moment, without dating the home for the future.
• The dos and don’ts of home integration and why not to go over-board on home technology.
• How to consider energy efficiency requirements of the future into home plans for today.
• Ideas for home evolution through all stages of family change in age, care, and capability.
