New Regulations Impacting Concrete Pump Operators and Asbestos Worker Training & Certification
Recording of a Live Webinar | taught by BCCSA
January 1, 2024 is a significant date in the calendar for BC’s construction industry, as new WorkSafeBC regulations impacting workers in not only residential, but virtually all industry sectors, will go into effect. To ensure members are informed about these important updates, HAVAN is presenting this webinar recording, led by the BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA).
In this course, Ammar Kavazovic, Director, Programs & Initiatives, and Sara Knights, Programs & Initiatives Specialist with BCCSA will provide an overview of the new laws which will require concrete pump operators to be competency certified, and the mandatory training and licensing for asbestos abatement workers and companies. As a builder or renovator, understanding these new regulations will help ensure your workers stay safe.
ABOUT THE BC CONSTRUCTION SAFETY ALLIANCE (BCCSA):
The BC Construction Safety Alliance is a not-for-profit association that provides services to over 60,000 construction companies employing over 280,000 workers. BCCSA is funded by the construction, plus select aggregate and ready-mixed industries through a portion of their WorkSafeBC annual assessments. Through this funding, the BCCSA has developed the Certified Concrete Pump Operator (CCPO) and Asbestos Control Training (ACT) programs to provide industry the educational, training, and certification tools to meet the new regulatory requirements.
