Course Description

This course provides an overview of the core principles of Passive House design and building energy efficiency regulations in Canada. It covers the history of energy efficient buildings, energy consumption data and environmental impact, case studies and the economics of creating high performance buildings.

This course is presented in collaboration with PassiveHouse Canada.

Marcel Studer (dipl.arch.eth Zurich, Switzerland) is a principal of Econ Group, a design-built construction company based in North Vancouver, has lived and worked in Canada for the last 21 years in his capacity as a designer, builder and educator. He is a PHI-accredited Passivehouse Designer and Trades Person. Since 2014 Marcel has been a board-member for Passivehouse Canada and is also a primary instructor for CPHD/C and Trades Person Courses.
