Course Description

This course, “Residential Outdoor Spaces: Safety, Systems and Service”, will focus on the home’s exterior space, bringing together a panel of speakers to help builders plan an integrated approach to safety, warranty, mechanical systems, design, environmental considerations and customer service.

With pre-planning and involving the outdoor trades in the discussion early in the process, builders can ensure the integrated design process flows smoothly between indoor and outdoor living spaces, creating continuity of mechanical systems, budget, design, environmental goals and customer expectations.  There will also be discussion on the importance of communications when it comes to warranty requirements to ensure any changes to the home’s exterior or outdoor spaces do not void their homeowner warranty and ensures safe enjoyment of the outdoor space for years to come.

Outdoor spaces are an important part of the integrated planning process at the outset of any residential project, bringing together the expertise of the builder, designer, and outdoor trades to ensure the delivered product (home and encompassing outdoor space) is thoughtfully designed and is safe for the homeowners to enjoy for years to come.
