Course Description

This course meets Module 1: BC Energy Step Code Overview and Requirements.

The Energy Step Code takes building to the next level this year, with Step 3 becoming the minimum level of building across B.C. Although many municipalities are advancing up the Steps faster than originally mapped out, the Step Code is a performance based, so it is up to the builder to determine the best pathway forward. Having the right foundation will help builders move ahead to higher Step Code levels.

This course features three speakers who provide insight on the Step Code regulations and implementation, best practices, design and building strategies, and tactics to building to Step 3 and higher more effectively:

  • Tiffany Warkentin, Director, Strategic Policy (Acting), Building and Safety Standards Branch, Ministry of Attorney General and Ministry Responsible for Housing
  • Luke Dolan, CEO, Capital Home Energy
  • Bob Deeks, President, RDC Fine Homes

Approved for 2.0 CPDs in Construction Technology
Note: If you have already taken this course, repeating it online will not qualify for additional CPD points.

This course has been approved by BC Housing as equivalent training to Module 1: BC Energy Step Code Overview and Requirements.
