This course is on Wall Systems and Foundation Waterproofing for Better Building Envelope Systems.

Led by Payam Bahman, Building Envelope Representative with Soprema, the presentation will split into two parts – Part 1 Wall Systems and Part 2 Foundation Waterproofing, with a discussion on how the foundation waterproofing below-grade ties into the wall system above grade for a seamless building envelope system.

Part 2: Foundation Waterproofing:

• SBS membranes and their strengths in various applications including “blind side waterproofing”
• Criteria for choosing differing water mitigation strategies
• Differences between positive side vs. negative side waterproofing
• Differences between damp proofing vs. waterproofing
• Technical details depicting various waterproofing applications (Step-by-step)
• Waterproofing solutions (products and systems)
• Waterproofing membranes (torch applied, self adhesive, liquid applied etc.)
• Drainage mats (various applications and installation methods)
• Primers (Low VOC, torch grade, self adhesive grade etc.)
• Liquid applied membranes (PU as well as PMMA chemical compounds)
• Tie-in details from pre-applied to post applied waterproofing systems
• Plaza deck waterproofing systems and application methods including details
